NASH Exchange, Inc is a newly formed non profit corporation founded by husband and wife team Adam and Sarah Vibbart. We have filed our 501(c)3 and are patiently awaiting exemption approval so we can accept tax deductible donations. NASH Exchange, Incorporated is a home decor, furniture, and vintage collectibles boutique. Our vision for the store was not your typical thrift store. We envisioned an upscale boutique in Ventura featuring new, used, up cycled, and re-purposed treasures and we are proud to say, we have created exactly that!
NASH Exchange, Inc will be a resource to the foster families and transitioning foster youth of Ventura County. As NASH Exchange sources income through our retail boutique, grants, and donations we have begun to structure our reimbursement programs. Families will be able to apply for Scholarships for college or vocational schooling, reimbursement for sports, art, music, dance and other extra curricular activities & equipment, camps, school functions, year books, and much more. Our son Nash was born July 6, 2015 and was two days old when we got the call from social services that they had a baby for us to foster. We met Nash on July 16 and fell head over heels in love with him. Nash was able to come home with us on day 21, July 29th. Nash officially became a Vibbart on October 14, 2016. We found out what resources were available to help the cause and were able to get assistant with WIC, Medical, clothing, etc. We found there are a tremendous amount of resources for infants and toddlers, however we need to improve on resources for school age, teen, and young adult.
Unfortunately, these children have been exposed to trauma and have been displaced from their homes due to abandonment, neglect, and/or abuse. These children are put into these situations by no fault of their own leading to them becoming high risk for teen pregnancy, drug abuse, criminal behavior and more. It is critical that foster children participate in extra curricular activities, sports, school functions, etc. This empowers children, gives them a sense of belonging, and increases their self-esteem helping to mold them into well-rounded, productive, young members of our community. As the saying goes, "it takes a village to raise a child." Most of us can lean on our family and friends for support. For foster children, their village is their community and they need more help.....and that help is YOU.
